Hazardous cargo according to ADR are materials and products that can be harmful to human health, environment and transportation vehicles if not properly handled. Transportation of these materials is subject to strict requirements and control on national and international level. That is why these types of materials require special packing, labeling and transportation.
Classification of hazardous cargo according to ADR has 9 categories:
- Explosives (all kinds of materials with explosive components, including fireworks);
- Gases (all kinds of highly flammable goods);
- Flammable liquid (petrol, diesel, perfumery products, etc.);
- Flammable solids
- Oxidising substances
- Toxic substances
- Radioactive material
- Corrosive substances
- Miscellaneous dangerous goods
Any mistake during transportation of these goods can cause undesired consequences and harm to human health and environment. That is why people engaged in ADR goods transportation must have proper qualification – ADR certificate.
